The Honourable André Wery

Biography
He was educated at Collège Mont-Saint-Louis and the Cégep du Vieux-Montreal, and obtained his law degree (1974) at the University of Montreal.
Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1975, he practiced for nearly 23 years in general and commercial litigation at the firm Desjardins Ducharme. For more than seven of those years, he worked with the Honourable Pierre-A. Michaud (former chief justice of Quebec).
On November 4, 1997, he was called to the bench as a puisne judge of the Superior Court of Quebec.
At the time of his appointment, he was a member of his firm’s board of directors and executive committee in his capacity as head of professional activities.
He was appointed associate chief justice of the Superior Court of Quebec on August 29, 2005 by Prime Minister Paul Martin.
