Biography Simon Fodden is professor emeritus at Osgoode Hall Law School, York Univeristy. He obtained his B.A. degree from Princeton University and his LL.B. degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where he taught family law, property law, and social assistance law for more than thirty years.

Professor Fodden assisted in founding Osgoode's intensive program in poverty law at Parkdale Community Legal Services, Ontario's first legal clinic, and later was academic director there for two years; started Osgoode's intensive program in family law; served as assistant and as associate dean of the law school; and took early retirement in 2000.

Subsequently, Professor Fodden pursued his interests in IT. He founded Slaw, the cooperative Canadian weblog on law, in 2005. He also created and developed The Court for Osgoode, a blog on the work of the Supreme Court. Conferences
