Biography Nicole-Marie Fernbach holds a Bachelor’s degree in law and a Bachelor's degree in english literature (Université de Bordeaux, France, 1971). She studied political science at the Master’s level (1972) at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, where she was a lecturer. She holds a Master’s degree in law (Université de Montréal, 1987). Formerly, a legal reviser, Translation Bureau, Secretary of State (1975-1982). A certified translator (OTTIAQ), she is also the founder and owner of Juricom, a translation agency, and she has been teaching legal translation and legal writing for more than 30 years. Author of several articles on clear legal writing and a book entitled La lisibilité dans la rédaction juridique au Québec (1990), she also founded the Centre International de Lisibilité, in Montreal. The Centre provides information on clear and simple language internationally as well as training in legal and administrative writing. She is the representative of Clarity in Canada. Conferences
