Executive Director
Éducaloi

Biography A law graduate from the University of Montreal (1989), Me Roy has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1991. After working in private practice for two years, she decided to pursue a non-traditional legal career. Focusing on her main preoccupation – access to justice - she developed and facilitated legal education activities for adolescents.

In 1997, she was appointed as assistant to the president of the Quebec Bar, a position that allowed her to solidify her knowledge of the legal community. During this time, she was able to reflect on the justice system and its place in society, and came to see the pressing need for legal information accessible to the general public. Her vision for Éducaloi began to take form, and in 2000, she became executive director of the newly-created non-profit organization. From a team of two at the outset, Éducaloi now has 18 jurists, communications experts and other professionals on staff. Éducaloi’s mission is to inform Quebecers of their rights and obligations by providing legal information in plain language.

In 2006, Nathalie Roy was the recipient of the Jeune leader d’affaires du Québec socialement responsable prize in the ARISTA BMO Bank of Montreal Provincial Competition.
