Biography
Mélanie Joly is managing partner of the Montreal office of the global communications firm Cohn & Wolfe. She advises a range of clients on managing large-scale issues and on brand positioning. She is a lawyer, a law graduate of the University of Montreal and holds a degree in European and comparative law from the University of Oxford. She is co-founder of Génération d’idées, a non-profit, nonpartisan think tank for 25 to 35-year olds. Mélanie is also a board member of several nonprofit organizations, including the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal and the Conseil supérieur de la langue française. Mélanie was named one of Quebec’s 2008 Women of the Year by ELLE Québec magazine and one of “15 femmes qui feront bouger le Québec” (movers and shakers) by the business journal Les Affaires in 2009.
