Me Guylaine LeBrun

Professional Liability Insurance Fund of the Quebec Bar
Biography
A member of the Quebec Bar since 1992, Me LeBrun spent over 16 years in private practice in civil litigation, including construction and real estate law. She then worked as a legal analyst in the loss department at the Professional Liability Insurance Fund of the Quebec Bar. In September 2009, she took over as coordinator of prevention activities for the insurance fund.
She was a professor at the École du Barreau for 10 years, teaching evidence, procedure, obligations, hypothecs and preferences, liability, and professional practice.
She is a former member of the disciplinary board of the Bar of Quebec and a former inspector for the professional inspection service of the Bar of Quebec.
As coordinator of prevention activities for the insurance fund, Me LeBrun is responsible for drafting and publishing
Praeventio, a newsletter for lawyers on prevention. She is also responsible for the implementation of practical prevention tools for lawyers to limit the risks of claims and malpractice suits.
