Biography Gérard Snow is director of the Centre de traduction et de terminologie juridiques (CTTJ) at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Moncton.

A graduate in classical studies from the Université de Moncton, in philosophy from the Université de Strasbourg and in law from the University of New Brunswick, he is a lawyer, notary and certified translator.

He was president of the Corporation of Translators, Terminologists and Interpreters of New Brunswick and of the New Brunswick Translation Industry Council. He currently chairs the Conseil pour l'aménagement du français au Nouveau-Brunswick.

Mr. Snow is the main author of the series Vocabulaire de la common law, published by the CTTJ, and of JURITERM, a common law terminology database. He has written two reference books on property law and is the author, with Jacques Vanderlinden and Donald Poirier, of the new encyclopedic dictionary La common law de A à Z. He contributes to standardization work of PAJLO, a program of the federal Department of Justice in the area of access to justice in both of Canada’s official languages. He also publishes, with Sylvette Savoie Thomas, a newsletter for jurilinguists called Actualités jurilinguistiques.
