Biography
Since May 1, 2007, Me Francis Gervais has held the title of Advocatus Emeritus (Ad.E.), a merit award of the Quebec Bar. He is a former president of the Bar of Laval, the Association des avocats et avocates de province, the Quebec Bar, the Federation of Law Societies of Canada and the Canadian National Committee of the International Association of Lawyers.
Me Gervais has represented clients before courts and a variety of administrative tribunals. His expertise covers the fields of municipal law, expropriation, property evaluation, insurance, civil liability, real estate law, banking law, securities, bankruptcy and insolvency, and professional liability.
He has acted on behalf of both individuals and public and para-public organizations, both as a law firm partner and in-house counsel for a large Quebec municipality.
Me Gervais is also active as a teacher and trainer in educational institutions and Quebec Bar sections and committees.
