The Role of Administrative Tribunals Vis-à-Vis Citizens

Presentation documents
b1 les tribunaux administratifs-1.pdf
In our judicial system, administrative tribunals are meant to be accessible to citizens. At the same time, administrative law remains complex and sometimes difficult for the layperson to understand.

What challenges do administrative tribunals face in terms of plain language, especially when it comes to their decisions? What has been done in recent years to make these tribunals more accessible to the public? What remains to be done?

The president of the Tribunal administratif du Québec, the president of the Commission des lésions professionnelles (a review tribunal in the area of occupational health and safety) and a litigator specializing in administrative law eagerly accepted an invitation to discuss these issues.

This was a lively debate that brought us back to the very heart of our justice system: the citizen!
