Revisiting the Language of Contracts - Part Two

Drafting contracts can provoke important questions. Should the language be complex and accessible only to experts? Or should it be overhauled to give true meaning to the principle of "informed consent"?

The issue merits reflection: should we use plain language in contracts? For example, should we use whereas clauses? Should we start to change our style and, if so, what is the best way to do this?

This workshop is designed to be a dynamic and thought-provoking discussion between legal professionals of all stripes. We hope it will generate reflection on the unique nature of the language of contracts. After hearing from the speakers, the audience will be invited to debate the issues raised.

Participate in a unique workshop that may challenge conventions ingrained in our legal community!

This workshop will be simultaneously translated.
