Head to Head: the Journalist and the Expert

There is no doubt that the news media play a crucial role in conveying simplified information to the general public.

The challenge is daunting, since journalists must quickly learn and master very technical and highly specialized subjects. They therefore often turn to an expert in the field to explain difficult concepts and provide accurate information.

It can be a huge challenge to provide captivating news while also giving clear information to the public. It’s a complex and fascinating art, one that generates a lot of disagreement about the quality of the simplified content delivered by both the expert and the journalist!

The workshop shed light on the context and constraints faced by journalists and experts in the fields of law and finance. This was a lively match-up!
