Biography A partner at Heenan Blaikie since 2004, Simon Chester is a member of the litigation and business law groups in the firm's Toronto office. His practice focuses on professional conduct, knowledge management, research and legal opinions. Over the past 25 years, he has been a pioneer in the application of technology to the practice of law, and is a core contributor to Slaw.ca, a Canadian legal blog. He is also qualified as an English solicitor.

Simon has held leadership positions in professional organizations and was the first non-American to chair the American Bar Association’s "TECHSHOW", a conference and exposition on technology and the law. He served as president of the College of Law Practice Management and the Oxford University Society in Toronto. He is a director of the Canadian Rhodes Scholars' Foundation.

Simon has testified often before parliamentary committees and frequently speaks at conferences on technology, law practice management and international law issues. He has contributed many articles for professional journals, and written chapters for Winning with Technology, The Quality Pursuit, Environmental Rights in Canada and Canadian Legal Practice.
