Biography Michèle Moreau has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1990 and became executive director of Pro Bono Quebec in January 2009. After graduating from the Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Law, she worked in private practice, and then became assistant director of labour relations services at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), a position she held for more than 10 years. She later taught labour law at the École du Barreau.

Since the outset of her legal career, she has been active with various organizations in the legal community: the Young Bar of Montreal, the Bar of Montreal, the Quebec Bar and the Canadian Bar Association.

As the first executive director of Pro Bono Quebec, Me Moreau oversaw the creation of the organization, and is now responsible for its administration, development and public relations, under the guidance of its board of directors.

Pro Bono Quebec is a non-profit organization created in October 2008 at the initiative of the Quebec Bar. Its mission is to promote and coordinate pro bono legal work by being a meeting place for pro bono initiatives aimed at improving access to justice.
